An Introduction to Current Teaching Room Technology at Newcastle University

Aimed At: This workshop is aimed at any staff member required to teach or present using teaching room technology.

Workshop Overview

This session gives any member of staff an introduction and overview of University teaching room technologies covering the essentials of the equipment and tips on how it can be used to enhance the learning and teaching experience. This workshop will be beneficial to all who attend, whether proficient or not, it is a precursor to the practical workshops.

Learning Objectives

At the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Understand which rooms are centrally supported and what standard AV/IT facilities are available to use
  • Have awareness of other technologies available within teaching spaces and how they may be used to enhance their teaching and student experience including:-
  • Interactive presentation equipment
    • ReCap lecture/event capture system
    • Turning Point audience response system
    • Net Support School
  • Know what other practical and more detailed courses are available to attend
  • Know where to get further training and support on a small group or one-to-one basis
