PI Development Programme

Success in Research banner

Are you new to running a research project?
Could you suddenly be faced with managing other researchers?
Do you have the skills and support you need to positively lead and manage a team and project?

The PI Development Programme (PDF: 407KB) is for academics and researchers who are new or aspiring Principal Investigators. If you wish to have a greater understanding of the responsibilities of this multi-faceted role and to identify and implement more effective ways of managing research, then this development opportunity is for you.

You will find this programme helpful if you:

  • Are excited (and apprehensive) about your new role and responsibilities.
  • Want to develop your research management and leadership skills.
  • Want to help your staff and colleagues develop their potential.
  • Are keen to develop your awareness of the 'big picture' and position yourself and your research strategically.

The PI Development Programme currently runs in October and January. Should you wish to make an expression of interest, please forward the waiting list application (Word doc: 213KB) to pidevelopment@ncl.ac.uk.
