Welcome to Newcastle University Chaplaincy

A dozen heads are better than one

Chaplaincy is here for everyone on the journey together

We can offer you...
  • confidential listening and support
  • prayer and worship
  • faith exploration
  • spiritual accompaniment
  • discussion and engagement
  • mindfulness and meditation

...and of course socials, fun and friendship!
Please note: The Chaplaincy is usually at 19/20 Windsor Terrace, which is behind the Robinson Library. However, the building is currently structurally unsafe for more than 2 people to be there at once, so all groups are being relocated. Please do email for further information.

The University Chaplain

The University Chaplain coordinates the work of the chaplains on campus and advises the University on faith matters.

The Chaplaincy Team

The Chaplaincy Team is currently made up of several Christian, as well as Buddhist, Jewish, & Muslim chaplains, and is committed to religious tolerance, diversity and respect. Further information on the faith provisions in Newcastle can be accessed in our rough guide to places of worship.

Catherine Lack, coordinating chaplain, was shortlisted for the TEA award for Overall Contribution to Outstanding Practice. Catherine said how This is a real honour for chaplaincy as a whole. We enjoy our work, and it is really affirming to be recognised like this by our students.
