Assistant Methodist Chaplain

Born and bred in County Durham, I came to Newcastle in 1998 to study History. After spending time as a student at both Newcastle and Northumbria Universities, I worked for a number of years as a primary school teacher (so my cutting and sticking skills have been well honed!). In my spare time, I enjoy playing and listening to music, including playing guitar and singing in a local band. My favourite films have a worrying trend running through them (they were all scored by composer John Williams) and I have a particular passion for all things Star Wars.

Since May 2009, I have been employed by the Methodist Church to support international students and their families in Newcastle through a range of activities both on and off campus. It continues to be a privilege to work with such an exciting and diverse community of people at the university and have the opportunity to explore how faith impacts our lives in the 21st Century. I believe that God's love has no boundaries and that we are called to address inequality and prejudice through our words and actions.
