What Do My UELA Results Mean?

You will be given a level of 1, 2 or 3 for listening and a level of 1, 2 or 3 for writing.

  • If you are in Level 1 (UELA score less than 60), you are strongly advised to take classes. It is very likely that you will need help.
  • If you are in Level 2 (UELA score 60 - 69), you should take some classes. You may need some help and will benefit from classes.
  • If you are in Level 3 (UELA score 70+) you should not need to take classes. There are not many level 3 classes. There are no writing classes for students at this level.

For writing support, level 3 students can attend the University’s Writing Development Centre.
