I wanted to be involved because doing so would boost my CV and develop my skills. I also got involved because the Careers Service has an excellent reputation and I wanted to be part of it.
I have been involved in promoting the Enterprise Challenge, DHLE calling, making a video for international students, helped to give feedback on short listed internship applications and running general promotions around campus.
The staff are very friendly and are always willing to lend a helping hand whenever I feel unsure about what I need to do. My favourite experience has been promoting the Enterprise Challenge on campus.
The most rewarding aspect is that I have really improved my skills. My presentation, communication and interpersonal skills have been greatly increased by my experiences as an intern. The ability to interact with like minded students and experienced staff is invaluable as you are able to gain first-hand advice on a daily basis.
The working hours are not very demanding. At most we are expected to contribute around three hours a week which makes it easy to manage around my studies.
I have developed my communication and presentation skills which I really believe are essential if you want to be successful in your future career.
