Entry criteria
- Current Newcastle University students or societies can apply.
- Only one of the nine categories can be entered.
- Applicants can write about more than one of their activities within their chosen category.
- Nominated students must not have received academic credit for any part of this achievement.
- For the society awards, committee members who have received academic credit via the Career Development module cannot be involved in the application process.
- The achievement can be attained through voluntary activity or paid work.
- You must have been involved in the activity at some point since 4th March 2013.
- Society achievements must have taken place during the 2013/14 academic year.
- Winning students, societies or projects cannot enter the same category the following year. See 2013 winners and runners-up (PDF: 5.37 MB).
- You can enter the competition yourself (based on your own activities), as a group or you can nominate fellow students for the activities they have been involved in.
- Entries submitted after the closing date will not be accepted.

How competition entries are assessed
Judges will be looking for evidence of:
- innovation
- effort
- contribution
- skill development
- impact
Prizes*
In each of the nine categories, the winning entry will receive £300 and the runner-up £100.
In addition, all winners will receive recognition of the award on their degree transcript.
*For the 'Best Society' and 'Most Improved Society' awards, prizes will go to the winning societies and not to individuals.
