Approximately 50 students every year organise, plan and take part in health, welfare and student issue campaigns with the Students' Union.
Campaigns range from awareness campaigns about topics such as sexual health and personal safety to national campaigns which all the Unions in the country are involved in.
Over 350 student volunteers assist first-year students during Freshers' Week. They help them move into halls, take them on trips and visits and introduce them to life at Newcastle University.
More than 100 students give up their time to raise money for charity in Raising and Giving (RAG) week, in February each year. Roles range from street collections to arranging bungee jumping.
