Students on the Newcastle Work Experience programme

Gain hands-on work experience alongside your degree and get paid for it.  Build your business contacts whilst increasing your skills and enhancing your CV.

NWE placements are open to applications from all current students of Newcastle University. The scheme offers paid work experience in local companies.

There are two different types of NWE placements:

  • term-time programme - 100 hours work over three to four months, flexible around your studies
  • summer programme - full-time placement for five or 10 weeks

Benefits

  • Get paid a bursary on completion of your placement - £600 for a term-time placement, up to £2400 for a summer placement.
  • Gain practical insight into a new area of work.
