Being a committee member of a club or society can not only gain you academic credit but it can also be a lot of fun!
Running a student group allows you to develop graduate skills whilst leading and organising student activities. Committee membership usually consists of one of three main roles; president, treasurer or secretary (or equivalent) for your chosen club or society.
These roles can be very different, but broadly involve organising society or club events, managing finances and other admin tasks. Many graduate employers look favourably on those who have undertaken elected leadership positions whilst at university as it shows tenacity, initiative and drive.
