I need to book a hotel for an external examiner, what is the procedure?

Please choose a hotel from the list of approved hotels in Newcastle, available on the Purchasing Services website. When booking the room, please quote Newcastle University in order to obtain the contract rate and let them know that the Exams Office will raise the purchase order. You must also inform the Exams Office of the booking. The invoice will be sent directly to Finance for payment. A rate of up to £90 per night will be paid from the Exams Office budget; schools wishing to accommodate external examiners in more expensive hotels will be asked to pay the difference.

The date for the submission of Semester One exam papers is Friday 9 December 2016.

Students suffering a temporary injury, or short term medical condition, are advised to apply for temporary exam adjustments by completing a Temporary Exam Arrangements Form (TEAF). Students should read the guidance before completing the form to check that they are eligible and have all the information required.
