School-based sessions

We work closely with schools to offer students the best writing skills support possible. Our aim is to familiarise students with the specific writing requirements and conventions of their discipline and the expectations of their own school. Throughout the academic year, we deliver lectures, workshops and seminars addressing the needs of students at a particular stage of their degree, with a focus on the types of assignment they are required to submit. Some of these sessions are integrated into the syllabus and timetable of a particular module, while others are offered as stand-alone sessions during induction week or at an agreed date during the teaching term.

Arrangements for these sessions, including timetabling and room booking, are made by the relevant school. The Writing Development Centre delivers the teaching but is not responsible for the administration of these sessions. Nevertheless, a schedule is available on this website for information.
