The tutor’s role
Tutors will:
- Identify strengths and weaknesses in your writing
- Offer guidance on text structure, use of sources and argument development
- Work with you on other areas of difficulty, including language use
- Help you to develop strategies for revising and editing your work so that you can monitor your writing and improve it over time
When working on language issues, the writing tutor will point out common errors in your work and help you to correct them. This is a teaching and learning activity which normally involves looking at a few pages of your work. Please note, however, that we do not offer a proofreading service.
