Specialist Learning Advisers can offer the following guidance and support to students with dyslexia and other Specific Learning Difficulties:
Advice and information
- An opportunity to meet and discuss individual needs
- Advise on assessment for dyslexia and dyspraxia
- Advise on screening and assessment for scoptopic sensitivity
- Advise on Disabled Students Allowance
- Arrange appropriate examination concessions
- Liaise with tutors and other relevant staff in University Schools
Study skills - Specialist Learning Advisers can offer or arrange the following support for students:
- Suggest strategies to improve organisational skills / time management
- Essay writing techniques
- Note taking techniques
- Reading strategies
- Revision techniques
Students with dyslexia or suspected dyslexia can be referred to our Specialist Learning Advisers.
