Mature Students

At Newcastle University, we recognise that starting University after a break in your studies can sometimes be more daunting than entering Higher Education directly from 6th Form. Often students returning to education can find it rather beneficial to meet up with other students who have similar circumstances to themselves.

At the Mature Student Orientation Programme we provide information, advice and guidance to address a range of issues that you may face. It provides a great opportunity to find out more about what it will be like when you start University. You will meet current University students who will share their experiences, as well as other mature students who will also be starting in September.

The last event was held on 21st September 2012 and was very successful, comments from our students included:

  • "It was well organised and thought out, Bravo!"
  • "It is a fantastic experience to have such information before starting the class. I now know where to go if I need any help, thanks to this session/programme"
  • "A great job and thank you for organising this. I met course mates, learnt how to go about starting school again and appreciate the succint summary of services available to me. Thumbs Up!"
  • "Excellent you wouldn't want to miss it!l"
  • "Excellent very worthwhile and settling"
  • "I really enjoyed, other students were very friendly"
  • "loved the library presentation"
