2017-18 Student Finance

Students should apply for their 2017/18 student finance as early as possible to ensure they receive their first payments on time.  Students should receive a response from their relevant assessment authority within 6 weeks of their application being submitted.

Students from England 

Students from England can apply NOW for 2017/18 funding at: www.gov.uk/apply-online-for-student-finance   

New students should apply by: 26th May 2017

Continuing students should apply by: 23rd June 2017 

Students who only received non-income assessed support in 2016/17 and are planning to be non-income assessed in 2017/18 may have had their student finance application rolled over.  These students are advised to log on to their online student finance accounts to check if they have been rolled over before reapplying for their student finance.

Students from Wales

New students should apply by: 12th May 2017

Continuing students should apply by: 9th June 2017

Students from Scotland can usually apply for their funding from April.

EU students need to complete a paper application form.

New students can usually apply from April.

Tuition Fees

2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015 entrants: will be charged £9,000 
2016 and 2017 entrants: will be charged £9,250.

Students on a *placement year will usually be charged a placement fee of £1,000. However some placement years attract fees of £1,350 or £1,800 – see contact details below.

Students who commenced study prior to 2012: will be charged £3,465.

Students on a *placement year will usually be charged £865.  However students on a full year Erasmus will not be charged any fees.

*Medical and dental students pay the full fee even when they undertake clinical placements from year 3 onwards
