Student Parents

Are you unsure about your rights and responsibilities as a student parent or are you about to become a parent and are concerned as to how this will affect your future at the University? Are you a prospective student and would like to know more about the University's provision and support services for student parents? Then these pages are for you.

If you are combining your studies with the care of a child, you may sometimes find yourself needing information or support to help you stay organised and to help you balance your parental responsibilities with your studies.

Whether you need information on childcare, funding, pregnancy and maternity, or support groups where you can meet other students in the same position, you can find it here.

Baby changing facilities

If you are on campus and have small children, please note that Newcastle University and the Students Union have baby changing facilities. These can be found at King's Gate, the Students Union and the Robinson Library. There will be additional facilities in due course through ESS refurbishment. The Student Wellbeing and Student Union web sites will be updated in due course.
