Student Counselling:

I have been providing counselling services to students in higher education settings since 2014, and joined the Student Health and Wellbeing Service here at Newcastle in September 2017. My goal for our work together is to make your counselling experience meaningful and tailored to your specific needs. Together we can explore and make sense of the thoughts, emotions, and experiences that are troubling you and causing you distress. We can explore alternative perspectives, new ways of thinking, and steps that you can take to overcome self-limiting thoughts, beliefs, and behaviours.

Therapeutic Approach:

My original training is in CBT, though I now use an integrative approach to tailor my work to each individual client’s needs.

Prior Experience:

My experience prior to higher education includes 4 years of working at a community mental health clinic and 5 years of working in crisis intervention/suicide prevention, where I both provided crisis counselling as well as trained new crisis counsellors.
