 Introduction

I have worked in education for over 15 years, starting my career within primary schools supporting disabled students. My role within the university is to provide advice, guidance and assistance to students who are experiencing difficulties with their studies which are, or may be, related to a Specific Learning Difficulty such as dyslexia, Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD/ADD.

This  extends to guiding students through the diagnostic process and providing advice on assistive software and other learning support facilities.

In collaboration with my colleagues in the Specialist Learning Team, I also help to facilitate the Aspergers and Autism Support Network (AASN) and transitional events for this cohort of students.
