Appointments and Drop-in Sessions

Appointments

The Student Finance Advisers are available to see students on a one-to-one basis.

Students will be allocated an initial 30 minute appointment in which they can discuss their finance related queries.

You should book an appointment if you:

  • want to discuss your funding options
  • want help sorting out student loan problems
  • want assistance with budgeting and managing your money
Contact:

To book an appointment contact the Advisers.

Where:

King's Gate. Students should report to the Student Services Reception on Level 2.

If you have a pre-booked appointment you should report to the express desk. You do not need to take a ticket and wait to be called to the Helpdesk. Students should ensure that they arrive at least 10 minutes before the scheduled appointment as it is important to be on time. Late arrivals may not be seen and will be required to arrange another appointment.

If you know you are going to be late or you are not able to attend your scheduled appointment you must inform the Advisers as soon as possible.

Drop-in Sessions

***There will be no drop-in session on Thursday 15th August***

The Student Finance Support Team runs two drop-in sessions every week which are intended to assist students who have quick finance-related queries. For instance if you :

  • are not sure who to contact for help with your finance problem
  • have questions about applying to the Access to Learning Fund
  • have questions about applying to the Financial Assistance Fund
  • have questions about the University Bursary

You will be allocated a 15 minute slot during the drop-in. If your enquiry is more complex you may be asked to book an appointment outside of the drop-in time. No appointment is necessary to attend the drop-in sessions but you should note that a 'first come-first served' system operates and you may need to wait to be seen. In order to avoid long waiting times only six slots will be available during the drop-in and will be allocated to the first six students who arrive.

Where:

King's Gate. Students should report to the Student Services Reception on Level 2. When you arrive in King's Gate for the drop-in sessions the Interaction Team is your first point of contact. You must take a ticket and wait to be called to the Helpdesk.
