Give it a go - every term, the Students' Union puts on a programme of activities for students to make the most out of their spare time. There's no need to join anything, no long term commitment just fun one off activities! These activities vary wildly and could be anything from Burlesque Dancing to Dodgeball, from interview skills to meditation! This is your chance to try out some different activities for FREE or low cost.
Culture Challenge - is a series of fun and challenging activities and events throughout the year, aimed at getting people together in small teams to compete, learn new stuff and win prizes. It's free to join.
Go Play - for all students, regardless of fitness, age, experience, course, background, anything. Go Play is about trying new things, meeting new people and having a go.
Why not volunteer? It's a great way to meet other people, looks great on your CV, gives something back to the community and can help you develop skills which will benefit you after university.

Take in a bit of culture, most museums and galleries in Newcastle are free to visit.
There's loads of outdoor space for you to explore around the city and it is only a short ride on the metro to the coast.
Visit one of the parks around Newcastle or take a tour round the public art in Newcastle and Gateshead.
Fancy a new wardrobe but can't afford to hit the shops? Why not organise a clothes swap party with your mates - it makes a cheap night in, you can de- clutter your wardrobe as well as picking up a few new items for your wardrobe for free.
Take a look to see if there are any national events happening in the local area and find out more about organising your own clothes swap.
Try your hand at growing your own fruit and vegetables - you don't need a lot of outdoor space and could save yourself a packet. Pots and seeds are fairly cheap to buy
