EU Tuition Fee Loans

Full-time EU (non-UK) students can defer their tuition fee payment by applying to the Student Loans Company for a tuition fee loan.

The loan allows you to defer the payment of your tuition fees and means that you do not need to pay fees whilst they are studying.

It is not possible to defer payment of your tuition fees through any other method.

Amount

You can apply for any amount up to the full amount you are charged for your tuition fees. For 2011/12 you will be able to apply for a loan up to £3,375.

The loan is paid direct to the institution on behalf of the student and you pas the loan back to the Student Loans Company once you have graduated.

Repaying the loan

Students do not have to start repaying their tuition fee loan until they have graduated and are earning a certain amount of money. However, you should contact the EU Customer Service Team, above, if you have queries about the repayment of your loan. They will take into account differences in living costs depending upon where you will be living once you have graduated and the levels at which you must start repaying the loan may not be the same as in the UK.
