Donor and Alumni funded schemes

A number of scholarship and bursary schemes are funded through generous donations from Newcastle University alumni and external agencies.

  • Alan Skelton Bursary - £1,250 for one year to assist a mature student from the school of History, Classics and Archaeology
  • AMEC Foster Wheeler Bursary - awards of up to £1000 available to North East undergraduate engineering students
  • Charles Letts Scholarship - awards of up to £2,000 for UK Marine Science and Technology undergraduate students
  • Clyde Higgs Postgraduate Scholarship - awards worth £5,000 are generously funded by the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust which aims to help the advancement of Agriculture
  • Clyde Higgs Undergraduate Scholarship - awards worth £5,000 are generously funded by the Elizabeth Creak Charitable Trust which aims to help the advancement of Agriculture
  • Fiona Foundation Scholarship - awards of £1,500 available to female UK undergraduate students studying Chemical Engineering
  • Hodcroft Goodland Ventures Scholarship - £3,000 award for the first year of study, available to an undergraduate pursuing a course in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials
  • Hodcroft Larsen Undergraduate Scholarship - £3,000 award for the first year of study, available to an undergraduate pursuing a course in the School of Chemical Engineering and Advanced Materials
  • Mary Spencer Undergraduate Scholarship - £1,000 award for a third year undergraduate BA History student

Contact Student Financial Support Team

  • Andrew Smith Memorial Foundation - provides annual award of three bursaries, each worth £500-£600 to first year postgraduates in a Humanities and Social Sciences (HaSS) subject.
  • Greenwich Hospital Bursary - for students who have served or whose parents have served or are serving in the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, WRNS, Royal Fleet Auxiliary or Royal Naval Service
  • Leverhulme Trade Charities Trust Bursary - provide bursaries to undergraduates who are in financial need and whose parent or spouse is a commercial traveller, grocer or chemists
