Engineering students who wish to apply for additional funding may find the list of charities / trusts below a useful starting point.

Benevolent Fund for Civil Engineers - helps disabled or disadvantaged students who are studying on an ICE accredited course for a degree in civil engineering

Benevolent Fund for Mechanical Engineers - grants of up to £1,000 per term to disabled or disadvantaged students who are registered on a IMechE accredited course

The Bernard Butler Trust Fund: for students in the field of engineering. Grants are given to college students, undergraduates, vocational students and mature students for fees, study/travel abroad, books, equipment/instruments and maintenance/living expenses.

The Douglas Bomford Trust for students in the field of engineering or science of agricultural industries.

The Engineers Trust - gives annual awards and prizes to support and encourage excellence amongst qualified engineers and those training to be Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers and engineering Technicians.

Institute of Engineering - offers awards to reward and celebrate individual excellence and innovation, undergraduate and postgraduate engineering scholarships.

Mott MacDonald Charitable Trust: People undertaking higher education in the fields of civil, structural, mechanical, electrical and allied engineering.

RIBA McAslan Bursary - will support an individual or team of architecture and engineering students, graduates and newly qualified architects and engineers to develop and realise a design research project.

UKNEST Scholarships - are offering up to 12 Undergraduate Scholarships to students who are interested in future employment in the Naval Defence Sector.
