Disabled Students' Allowances cover any additional study-related costs that students will incur because of a disability, ongoing medical condition, mental health condition or specific learning difficulty, e.g. dyslexia. Extra costs may include specialist equipment, a non-medical helper, travel and other costs. .
More information about applying for DSA and the support available can be found on our disability web pages.
Students who think they have a specific learning difficulty should contact the Specialist Learning Team. They may recommend that a psychological diagnostic assessment is undertaken. Any student who requires an assessment will be required to pay for this. However students may be able to claim up to £300 of these costs back through a subsidy. This will be discussed in your appointment with a Specialist Learning Adviser.
