Hockerill Educational Foundation

The Hockerill Educational Foundation makes grants (typically £500 - £1000 per year) to teachers in training who have particular financial difficulties. Limited funding means that assistance cannot be given to students who have taken out a normal student loan or who are in receipt of a PGCE training salary.

Eligibility

Priority is given to students with particular financial problems, for example:

  • those who have additional family or other costs and responsibilities
  • those who have no family support to fall back on
  • mature students for whom teaching is a career change
  • those who may not be eligible for the normal statutory loan or grant support

Students training to teach religious education are given highest priority, but help is available to others, particularly primary education students, who are in serious financial need.

How to apply

Applicants should apply now for future years of their course.
