UKeiG Student Bursary

UKeiG is the UK eInformation Group who are principally concerned with the creation, supply and use of electronic resources. The bursary is intended to help a student who is in hardship or who has a lack of funding.

Eligibility

To be eligible you must:

  • be a UK student
  • be studying either a first degree or a postgraduate course which includes significant information handling/management content (ie a course about information resources and not one that simply uses them)
  • be a self-funding student who is not in receipt of government funding or any other award, bursary or scholarship - you may have a student loan
  • be nominated for the award by your school - any school may only put forward one student

Amount

A bursary of £2,500 is offered.

How to apply

Students must be nominated by their academic school. UKeiG will not accept applications directly from a student.

Nominations should take the form of a letter stating why that the particular student is financially disadvantaged. It should be accompanied by short details of the course being taken. There is no need to demonstrate the quality of the student as this is assumed, given that they have been accepted for, and/or remain on, the course.

The deadline is normally mid-October. decisions are made by the end of October. The first cheque is sent out immediately; the others follow at the start of the Spring and Summer terms.
