Computer Aided Lifestyle Management (CALM)

CALM - Computer Aided Lifestyle Management – is a new online multimedia programme available to all students at Newcastle University. It uses clinically proven self-help tools to identify, motivate and educate you around issues such as anxiety, depression, insomnia and stress. Once you have identified any issues, CALM can help you to deal with your thoughts and feelings associated with them.

How to use CALM

To use CALM please follow the steps below:

  • Step 1 Please click here for your activation code
  • Step 2 Access CALM at www.nclstudent.calmyou.com
  • Step 3 Click on ‘New User’
  • Step 4 Set up your individual username and password (you must have your activation code to proceed)

Once activated you will be able to identify your personal profile, set personal targets and track your progress. Only you can get to your information - the programme is confidential.

You can access CALM 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from any computer with internet access. As it is an interactive multimedia programme, it is best you use it when you won’t be disturbed, or by using headphones.
