Student Wellbeing Advisers

Student Wellbeing Advisers offer a number of options to support students.

Group work

Group work can be offered upon request from schools on a range of subjects relating to general wellbeing and mental health. Topics include:

  • beating exam stress
  • relaxation
  • overcoming work block

Life skills

A wide range of groups and workshops can be offered upon request from schools on a range of topics such as:

  • anxiety management
  • beating exam stress
  • money management
  • motivation and confidence
  • procrastination.

Individual sessions can also be arranged.

Peer mentoring

Advisers work closely with colleagues in schools across the University to develop peer mentoring schemes to support undergraduate and postgraduate students. Please contact schools directly for more information.

Mature Student Orientation

A comprehensive one day induction event for all interested mature students. Talks and information from relevant support services – Library, Writing Development Centre, Maths-Aid and Student Wellbeing. More information about the Mature Student Orientation Programme.

Consultancy for students

If a student has any concerns about their mental or emotional wellbeing but feels unable or unsure about making an appointment, they can e-mail us to discuss their situation. On weekdays, an email received before 4pm will be responded to that day.

Alcohol awareness

The Advisers offer support and information to students about the use of alcohol.
