Student Involvement

A new student representation system has been in operation from the beginning of the 2010/11 academic year, and the associated policy was revised in 2011/12. It ensures that you have plenty of opportunity to contribute to, and enhance, your time at University.

All Chairs of Staff Student Committees are now students as part of the new policy, allowing students to be more actively involved in the running of their SSCs. Students can also take on the role of secretary and will have office support from their subject area.

The policy also includes student representatives on:

  • University-level Committees
  • Internal Subject Reviews
  • Student Education Committee
  • the Union Council

You told us you wanted to feel more involved, so the personal tutor system has also been looked at and revised. More information on the new system can be found here.
