Make Newcastle University a safe e-mail sender and ensure you never miss any of our e-mails which may include important information about your application to study here.

Whitelist: safe sender settings

To avoid missing any essential communications please ‘whitelist’ our email address as a safe sender with your internet provider. This will only take a few minutes but will ensure you always receive our e-mails direct to your inbox.

Our e-mails will end with either of the following domain names:  @ncl.ac.uk or @connect.hobsons.co.uk (our email provider).

Instructions on how to do this for some e-mail providers follow:

Gmail
  • Open the e-mail
  • Click More Options
  • Click Add sender Address Book
Hotmail
  • Select Options, More Options... from the Windows Live Hotmail toolbar (or just Options if you use Windows Live Hotmail classic)
  • Follow the Safe and blocked senders link under Junk e-mail.
  • Click Safe senders
  • Type the email address or domain you want to put on the Safe senders list in the Sender or domain to mark as safe: entry field
  • Click Add to list
MSN
  • Open the e-mail
  • Click Save Addresses
  • Click Save
Outlook Express
  • Open or preview the e-mail
  • Right-click the From Address
  • Click Add to Outlook Contacts
  • Click OK
Outlook 2003
  • Open or preview the e-mail
  • Right-click the From address
  • Click Add to Outlook Contacts
  • Click Save and Close
Yahoo!
  • Open the e-mail
  • Click Add to Address Book
  • Click Add to Address Book again
  • In the bottom of the message window, click 'Show HTML graphics'
AOL Version 9.0
  • Open the email
  • Click the Add Address button on the right side of the screen
  • Click OK
  • In the upper right corner of the message window, click 'who images and enable links'
