Post-application E-mail Contact from Newcastle University

After you have applied to study with us we will send you important information about your application. We will communicate with you primarily via email, so it’s important to make sure that you don’t miss any of our e-mails.

Whitelist: safe sender settings

To avoid missing any essential communications please 'whitelist' our email address as a safe sender with your internet provider. This will only take a few minutes but will ensure you always receive our e-mails direct to your inbox.

Our e-mails will end with either of the following domain names: @ncl.ac.uk or @connect.hobsons.co.uk (our email provider).

Instructions on how to whitelist emails for some e-mail providers (using a desktop/laptop) are listed below. 

AOL WebMail

  1. Open our email
  2. Select the ‘don’t block this sender’ link

Gmail

  1. Open our email
  2. Hover over our name and a small window should appear
  3. Choose ‘add to contacts’ and our details will be added automatically

Outlook (Hotmail, Live Mail and Outlook)

  1. Open our email
  2. Select 'add to contacts' next to our email address

Yahoo! Mail

  1. Open our email
  2. Hover over our name
  3. Hover over ‘…’
  4. Select ‘add to contacts’

Microsoft Outlook (2003, 2007 and 2010)

  1. Right click on our email
  2. Select ‘junk’
  3. Select ‘never block sender’s domain'
  4. Select ‘ok’

Apple Mail

  1. Open our email
  2. Select our name
  3. Select ‘add to address book’

Thunderbird

  1. Open our email
  2. Select the star next to our name (star will now appear yellow)

Keep your e-mail address details up to date

Undergraduate applications

Please keep UCAS up to date with your most current email address. Please have your Personal ID ready so UCAS can find your records quickly.
