Calling all postgraduate research students working on sustainability-related research!
The Newcastle Institute for Research on Sustainability (NIReS) runs three Research Postgraduate Sustainability Poster Competitions each year, where students can present and discuss their research with other postgraduate students in an informal atmosphere.
You can come along and bring a poster to display which outlines your current research project, or simply come to look at the posters being displayed by other students and vote for your favourite – and have a free lunch!
Posters can be on any topic and in any discipline, provided that your research is linked in some way to sustainability. If you are presenting a poster, funding is available to cover the costs of poster printing (and the poster remains yours to keep). You will be asked to very briefly present your poster to the room (in 1 minute) at the start of the event, then lunch will be served and everyone attending will be able to make their way around the room and look at the posters displayed.
The students attending will be asked to vote for the posters which they think are the best, and there will be a prize of £100 for the best poster and two runner-up prizes of £50.
Postgraduate Researcher Development Programme credits are available for students who are presenting posters.
We are holding three poster competition events; these will be held in G21/22 Devonshire Building on:
12:00-2:00pm Wednesday 28 November 2012
12:00-2:00pm Wednesday 6 February 2013
12:00-2:00pm Wednesday 15 May 2013
