Environmental Legislation

The University has to comply with many pieces of environmental legislation. Environmental legislation is generally designed to reduce the harm our business and activities may cause to the environment.

Not complying with environmental legislation can have severe consequences. We could be fined or even face a prison sentence. In some circumstances, our business or activities could be closed down.

This section highlights the key pieces of environmental legislation relevant to our businesses and activities.

All members of staff, including Heads of Schools, Managers, Supervisors and Safety Officers should be familiar with legislation which affects them.
