Timetable Weeks and Teaching Weeks
Some teaching at Newcastle University starts early in the year and before the start of the formal academic year, and for this reason we consider this the first week available to use in the teaching timetable (Timetable Week 1 ). Because of this, by the time the new academic year has started in September/October several weeks have passed in the teaching timetable and the first week of University teaching = week 5 in the University timetabling system, teaching week 2 = timetable week 6, and so on.
Teaching weeks vs. Timetable weeks are mapped at the start of each year and are available as downloads below in pdf format. If you require this information in another format or have a question, please contact the Timetable Services Team at Room-bookings@ncl.ac.uk
The timetable week and date beginning week guide is now also shown at the top of teaching timetables when viewing on-line.
