Dr Gordana Vasic Franklin

Introduction

Gordana is researcher in NewRail within the Rail Infrastructure Group. Her research experience is in a wide range of railway research areas and expertise in wheel-rail contact, particularly in adhesion and rail wear.

Gordana is also the Research Coordinator for Newcastle University's transportNewcastle network. Her role is to promote the University for transport technology research and to assist in the coordination of the network.

Background

My research has been mainly in railway engineering. I have industrial experience in the gas engineering field and welding. For two years I was a lecturer at the Polytechnic of Mechanical and Traffic Engineering in Belgrade, Serbia, teaching public transport.
