Study Abroad for International Students at Newcastle

There are a range of study abroad and exchange opportunities for international and European Union (EU) students wishing to study at Newcastle for one year or less.

Study abroad programmes

Our study abroad programmes are for international students who wish to study at Newcastle University for one year or one semester (three months). They are designed for students from all countries outside of the EU who have completed at least one year of study at their home university.

Choose from programmes in five subject areas:

Study modules that count directly towards the degree you are studying at your home university.

Exchange programmes

Within Europe (ERASMUS)

In order to study at Newcastle under the Erasmus scheme you must be studying at a university which has an Erasmus agreement with us.

Outside of Europe

In order to study at Newcastle as part of the Non-EU Exchange Programme, you must be studying at an institution which has an Exchange Bilateral Agreement with Newcastle University, in the subject which you wish to study.

English language development

The INTO Newcastle University Centre provides a Study Abroad with English course that combines language learning and academic study for students who want to spend a year abroad to develop their English language.
