This degree programme follows the same programme of study as our Chemistry BSc Honours degree, but at Stage 4 you have the opportunity to build on your skills at both experimental and theoretical levels through extended exploration of key chemical concepts and specialised areas.

This degree is accredited by the Royal Society of Chemistry. It is aimed at students who are planning for a career in chemical research in industry or academia, or who may wish to study for a higher qualification such as a PhD.

We also offer this degree with an assessed industrial training year during Stage 3.

Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.
