This three-year BEng degree meets the standards of international Bachelors’ engineering degrees from the USA and Commonwealth countries.

It has the same focus as our MEng programmes, covering a broad range of mechanical engineering topics to provide a breadth of career opportunities, with a choice of specialist options in the final year.

Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.

The course structure of all our Mechanical Engineering degrees is similar for the first two years. This means you have the option to transfer between the BEng and any of our MEng degrees at the end of Stage 2, providing you achieve a Stage average of 60 per cent. 

Stage 3

You can focus on your strengths, interests and career aspirations by choosing either of two streams within this degree, or a third stream by transferring to the BEng in Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
