In practice, many engineers develop into senior managers. In order to manage teams of specialist engineers effectively, it is helpful to have experience of the full spectrum of engineering activities.
In contrast to the other specialist MEng degrees, this degree aims to equip you with knowledge and skills across a broad range of mechanical engineering topics to allow you to keep your career options flexible.
Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.
The course structure of all our Mechanical Engineering degrees is similar for the first two years. This means you have the option to transfer between all of our MEng degrees up to the end of Stage 2, providing you achieve a Stage average of 60 per cent.
Examples of final-year projects include:
The modules listed here are those currently being taught in this academic year and may vary for your year of entry.
