This degree is designed to meet the needs of the UK transport industries, in particular automotive consultancy, specialist vehicle designers and manufacturers, and the railway industry.

The combination of a mechanical engineering background with automotive and rail specialisation ensures that graduates have a range of career prospects in the transport industries and beyond.  

Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.

The course structure of all our Mechanical Engineering degrees is similar for the first two years. This means you have the option to transfer between all of our MEng degrees at the end of Stage 2, providing you achieve a Stage average of 60 per cent.

  • effect of pre-history on the fatigue of automotive gear steels
