This degree was introduced as a response to the upsurge in the leisure boat market, the increasing variety of high-speed passenger craft and work boats. It also came in response to indications by industry that greater numbers of technically qualified graduates are required. Many students are attracted to these degrees through their interest in sailing.

We offer this degree at Master's and Bachelor's level. The Engineering Council (UK) recommends that UK and EU students apply for the MEng degree as this is seen as the most direct route to becoming professionally qualified.

Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.
