This degree emphasises the applications of devices and systems. The supporting practical work includes substantial project elements.
This programme has many elements in common with our Electrical and Electronic Engineering degree. Stage 1 is the same for both degrees, allowing for transfer between them.
After following a broad programme of study for the first two years, you can choose to specialise in either communication electronics or microelectronics in later Stages.
As well as technical options, your programme also includes non-technical modules such as management subjects and modern languages.
An important part of the MEng programme is taking part in industrial or research activity, either in the UK or abroad. You spend three months working, under guidance, as a junior engineer in a real commercial environment.
Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.
