- Name: Henry
- Course: Agriculture with Farm Business Management BSc Honours
- Where I'm from: UK
It was one of the best degrees in agriculture available. I loved the city and the University when I came to look around.
Studying at Newcastle
We are a close group of people on the course as it’s a small group and being able to form relationships with staff allows us to get the best out of our degrees. Newcastle is a great city to study in.
The Agriculture course is fantastic from Stage 1 right up to Stage 3, as you get a wide variation of teaching in Stages 1 and 2 before you specialise in Stage 3. The staff are good and you’ll make great friends within the course and within the Agric Society.
Living in Newcastle
I live in Jesmond and am a member of the Agric Society which has allowed me to make friends and also to continue playing rugby which I wouldn’t have done otherwise.
The clubs at the University are fantastic, I was briefly a member of NUTS (Newcastle University Theatre Society). I have been involved in rugby, a ploughing match and other social events.
I aspire to be a farm manager. The University has given me a good basis of in-depth knowledge to go and continue my learning in the work place. Currently I am going on trial for an assistant manager’s job in Lincolnshire.
