AAA-ABB including General Studies. GCSE grade B or above required in a modern foreign language. If a candidate wishes to study French, German or Spanish at post-A level standard, minimum grade B in the relevant A level language is required.
A level subject combinations are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
At least one A level from a social science or humanities subject such as History, Government and Politics, Geography, English or Philosophy is preferred but not required.
AAAAA-AABBB at Higher Grade, preferably including a modern foreign language. A modern foreign language is required at grade 2 Standard Grade (or Intermediate 2 equivalent) if not offered at Higher Grade. Combinations of Highers and Advanced Highers accepted.
A minimum of 34-37 points with a Modern Language at grade 5 or above/or other evidence of foreign language ability.

Units in at least one of: British Politics, Geography, Historical Studies, Sociology and Philosophy. At least 30 level 3 credits at Distinction, including one of the subjects listed above, and in addition at least 15 level 3 credits at a minimum of Merit. In addition, a unit in a Modern Foreign Language is required with Distinction if evidence of modern foreign language ability is not demonstrated by previous qualification.
