This degree combines topics in both marketing and management to provide a broad understanding of business concepts and contemporary marketing theory and practice.
It is vocationally oriented, giving you the chance to apply theory to practice through the use of case studies, practical projects and an optional work placement.
The management element of the programme will provide you with the appropriate academic knowledge and practical skills should you decide to pursue a career in management or become an entrepreneur.
The marketing element of this degree will provide you with the relevant skills and help prepare you for professional accreditation by the Chartered Institute of Marketing by offering exemptions from some of the examinations required to achieve this.

Assessment methods include; written examinations, essays, project work, portfolios of practical work, oral presentations, computer-based multiple-choice questions, a dissertation or individual reflective report. After Stage 2, you can spend an optional year on a 12-month work placement in a UK or European business, or studying at one of our partner universities abroad. The Business School has a dedicated Placement Officer. We have recently placed students in companies including:
Students who spend the year on a work placement in a UK organisation will be eligible for the award of Marketing and Management with Commercial Placement BA Honours.
Alternatively, if you spend the year studying and/or in a work placement in a European country through the Erasmus scheme you will be eligible for the award of Marketing and Management with European Placement BA Honours.
