Our degrees are divided into Stages. Each Stage lasts for an academic year and you need to complete modules totalling 120 credits by the end of each Stage.

The historical/cultural modules offered change on a yearly basis and always include a range of topics, musical repertoires and musicological approaches. If you have achieved 60% or higher in Stage 2, you may replace 20 credits from the above list with 20 credits from the following list, provided the area of study (Dissertation, Composition, Performance or Project) is different to the Major Specialist Study:
