Additional Costs 2014 Entry

Some of our degrees involve additional costs which are not covered by our tuition fees. Some of these costs apply to all students while others depend on your programme of study.

To make sure that you budget accurately for university life, please read this page carefully to see which additional costs apply to you, as well as any support you can expect to receive towards them.

All students

Printing and photocopying costs

All students receive £12 of printing/photocopying credit each year, which covers 300 pages of printing. Once you have used up your allocation you will need to pay for more printing credit. We currently charge 4p per page (A4 black and white) and up to 24p per page (A3 colour laser).

Congregation ceremonies

When you graduate, you will be invited to a graduation ceremony at the University, which is free to attend for you and two guests. You will however need to pay to hire the academic robe for you to wear during the ceremony.

Library overdue charges

Overdue charges will apply to all library loans to encourage you to return any resources you borrow on time. Costs vary depending on the type of loan e.g. long or short loan and the resource involved e.g. book, student text collection, e-book reader or equipment and laptop or equipment. The income from overdue charges is used to purchase new books requested by students and additional copies of those in heavy demand
