This Scholarship is donated by the family of James Skillington, to honour his memory after he died from Leukaemia whilst studying Chemistry at Newcastle University.
This Scholarship provides one Chemistry student with an award of £2,000 split over three years of study at the University. £1,000 will be awarded in year one, followed by £500 in years two and three.
To be eligible for this award you must:
- be entering your first year of studying Chemistry at Newcastle University starting in 2017, when making your application
- first priority will be given to those students qualifying on academic and financial grounds
Process for application
To apply please submit an online application form by Friday 27th October 2017.
Applications will be judged on financial need, academic potential, enthusiasm and aptitude for the chosen programme of study.
Recipients are required to write a note of thanks and be available to meet the donor annually if requested.
