Computers and Wi-Fi Access at Newcastle University
When you register at Newcastle you will receive a login, e-mail account and filestore on the University's IT network.
All of our computers offer a high-speed network connection, with free Wi-Fi widely available across campus.
Some of the IT facilities and services you can enjoy at Newcastle include:
- over 1,400 fully networked PCs, across 40 clusters, some with 24-hour access
- express workstations across campus
- web hosting service for publishing your own web pages and blogs
- accessible equipment such as height adjustable desks, large monitors and posture aids
- laptop loan scheme for use within the Library
It's possible to see the real-time availability of computers in our clusters on any mobile device, as well as on plasma screens across campus.
